A free public search over U.S. and Canadian court decisions — no account required.
Product overview
CaseLite is Caseway's free case-search product. It uses the same underlying court-decision corpus that powers Casey, but exposes a simple search and browse interface instead of an AI assistant. For coverage limits and source practices, see the data and methodology page.
Step 1
Start with the United States or Canada. CaseLite keeps each legal system separate so results stay jurisdictionally coherent.
Step 2
Enter a case name, citation, docket or court-file number, or keywords from the opinion. You do not need Boolean syntax to begin.
Step 3
Results surface real published decisions with court, date, and identifiers so you can open the record that matches your matter.
Step 4
In supported jurisdictions you can move from case search into statutes and regulations collections without leaving the product.
• It does not invent case text or citations — every result points at a published decision from the corpus.
• It is not a substitute for licensed counsel or formal legal advice.
• Paid AI research and drafting remain on Casey; CaseLite stays free for search and reading of available records.
